Looking for a location to have special events can be tough work. There are so many options to consider. Outside? Park? Water? Beautiful scenery? Community Center? ...the available options can go on & on. There are many things that can make the selection of a site very frustrating. For example, I have an upcoming graduation party, the guest of honor is not picky, however, here's the mission:
The graduation is on a Sunday morning, the party must follow later in the evening. The grad is earning an associate so they would like to include family and friends. (Family includes children and minors) The grad is also a party goer so they would love to have drinks available to their guests. And lastly, the grad is a grad, so the budget is under $1000. In this scenario, there are many things that we were up against: most facilities have early closing hours on Sunday, most facilities don't allow alcohol on the premises on Sunday, most facilities that do allow alcohol on Sundays are only for those that are 21 years and older, and most facilities that were perfect almost cost close to $1000.
The great part about this upcoming event is that the grad knew exactly what they wanted! When looking for a location, most people get confused and frustrated because they have such an open mind and no structure of what they are looking for. Start with a small list of at least two requirements and narrow down your choices from there. If you know your total budget is $800 for a small birthday gathering, stay away from the sites that cost $600 or more. A list of what you need will help you to know exactly what you are looking for.
By the way...were you looking for the answer to our graduation party problem?
