Yamin & Yinjie – “A Wedding in 7 Days”

On Friday, April 1st, after evening hours I received a voicemail message from a groom, Yinjie requesting our services for a wedding that he and his bride, Yamin wanted to have next month. We called them back the next morning and spoke with Yamin to get more details. In the middle of our conversation, Yamin corrected her groom’s voicemail by letting us know they wanted to get married next WEEKEND and not next MONTH. A WEDDING IN 7 DAYS?!?!?!?!? They didn’t have anything booked, purchased, decided on, selected or thought of! Up for the challenge, we headed out to their home and started making phone calls!!
A little on the anxious side, we had to get things going. After seeing two gorgeous sites (The Heart of St. Charles and Ameristar), Yamin was set on having two receptions: one lunch following the ceremony and cocktails and dinner later in the evening! Our Monday was full of more phone calls and appointments, Tuesday was stuffed with venue viewings, Wednesday was confirmation day, Thursday was shopping day, Friday was set up day, and Saturday was go day!
Filled with oriental traditional wedding reds, butterflies, and lots of food, we successfully pulled it off with the help of The Conservatory for a gorgeous wedding ceremony; Tawny at The Heart of St. Charles not only serving lunch but providing the couple with a wedding cake; Jodie and her team at Ameristar Casino were a great help with being so flexible with last minute changes and decisions; and Kathy with Memories are Forever captured every special moment!
